A 13-year-old boy picking up bottles, to raise the money for his own surgery fee
In Chongqing, this boy is picking up bottles day and night. He is to raise money for the surgery of his own fingers. He has one finger extra in his hand, the sixth finger needs to be cut off.
His Mom and Dad died already, his grandfather also passed away recently.
He has to save enough money for his own surgery by picking up as many bottles as possible.
The surgery costs RMB8,000 (approximately US$1,200), it means he has to pick more than 160,000 bottles.

Car fell from viaduct under construction, Fuzhou
At 9am on February 18th, a viaduct was under constrution in front of the Fuzhou South Railway Station. Due to that there is no roadblock signs, a car "break in" straightly and entered the viaduct, then fell down at the open point.

"Lady Zen" in Metro Line #9, Shanghai
Ms.Wang, a Shanghainese girl, photographed the a purple-dressed lady picking-pocket a yellow-dressed lady (upper 3 shots are taken by Wang). This leads the purple-dressed lady to be under arrest.
Around 6pm February 18th, Ms.Wang at Yishan Road Station of Metro Line #9, found that two passengers are acting suspiciously.
Ms.Wang immediately came up with her iPad2 and started vedio recording at the two.
Wang recalls that, the two did not look at other's face, but kept staring at other's backpack or pockets. They were very uncertain.
When the train arrived and doors opened, the purple-dressed woman picked a cell phone from the pocket of a yellow-dressed women with a child.
So, Ms.Wang grabbed the purple-dressed woman. And the purple-dressed quickly put the cell phone back to the pocket of the yellow-dressed woman.
At this point, Ms.Wang called the police while firmly grasp the purple-dressed woman.
Ms.Wang was heavily pushed aground and her iPad fell to the ground.
All these were also recorded by CCTV at the site (lower 2 shots are taken by CCTV). Finally police rushed to Ms.Wang and the suspect.
Subsequently, Ms.Wang uploaded the video on-line, hoping that victims would come forward to identify the suspect.

Minimum price for a number plate of car: RMB55,400!
Shanghai's private car quota auction for this month is held today. In total, 8,000 license plates are put on auction, unchanged from last month.
23,391 bidders are participated in the auction this month.
The lowest successful bidding price for a license plates is RMB55,400 (apprximately US$9,000), the average price is of RMB55,632.

Eating 40 wild turtles, four Chinese in Zimbabwe have been arrested
Zimbabwe's official media, The Herald, yesterday quoted the words of an animal rights organization said, 4 Chinese had eated more than 40 wild turtles. On Feb. 16th, Zimbabwe police raided a village in southeast of the country.
They found 13 live wild turtles and 40 turtle remains, these four Chinese man are arrested subsequently.
They are now under investigation, may be deported later.

95% of sperm donors in Hubei Province are university students
They got subsidy of RMB3,000 (apprximately US$550) when donation is completed. Sperm donors are required for at least 22 years old, must have a college education, more than 1.65m tall, no color blindness and genetic or other diseases.
After strict inspection, a subsidy of RMB200 for each sperm donation. When they complete the whole process, a subsidy of RMB3,000 will be granted.
Dr. Jiang Xianglong, who is running the Sperm Bank in China, said that, after one year of test-run, mote than 1,100 volunteers registered, of which 95 percent are college students. Only 20% of them passed the final test.
Dr. Jiang also calculated: infertility is 8% -10% in China, the population in Hubei Province is 60 million, of which 1/6 are in the reproductive period. By the most conservative estimate, there needs at least 2,500 sperm donors for screening in order to meet the demand in Hubei Province only.
